In a high scoring one sided exhibition game, it was the Smokies who scored early compared to last night, building up a 5-0 lead before the Wild finally got on the scoreboard in the last minute of the middle period. Trail would add two more goals, Wenatchee one more for a 7-2 Smoke Eaters win to even their exhibition record at 1-1.

Trail led 2-0 after the opening period.

For the second consecutive game the Smokies netminders were seeing pucks frequently with shots being 10-7, 18-11 and 21-8.

The Smoke Eaters will have to work on their defensive game as future high scoring games for wins may not be as easy to come by as they were tonight.

The Smokies play the Cranbrook Bucks in a home and away exhibition game series starting Friday, September 16 in Trail and continuing in Cranbrook on Saturday.

Be there or be square.
