J.T. Miller Stays A Canuck For Now With 7-Year Extension

The Vancouver Canucks and Vancouver’s leading scorer from last season finally agreed to put differences aside and find enough agreement to settle on an 8 year extension that will give him 56 million dollars through the 2029-30 season.

In the team press release, Canucks GM Patrik Allvin called J.T. Miller “an impact player” and added he was “thrilled” to have him re-signed long term.

Allvin also praised Miller’s competitive drive and called him “a key piece of this team for years to come”.

J.T. Miller’s salary is $4,500,000 and his cap hit is $5,250,000 for the 2022-23 season. He is a 29 year old left wing who was born on Mar. 14, 1993. He was drafted 15th overall by the New York Rangers in the 1st round of the 2011 entry draft. He has signed 5 contracts worth a total value of $92,449,000. Over a career that spans 10 seasons (with at least 1 NHL GP), he has a total 454 Pts in 637 GP, and 44 playoffs Pts in 78 GP. He will be a UFA at the end of the 2029-30 season when he is 37 years old.
