The Canucks today updated the condition of defenseman Alex Edler, who got injured in the first period of the Colorado game on the weekend.
Edler will undergo surgery today for a fractured index finger on his left hand. His expected recovery is 4-6 weeks.
As for Sven Baertschi, Baertschi is back, but Dorsett, Hansen, Tanev, Rodin are still unavailable, with Tanev close to skating.
Alex Biega is return to the Canucks from the Utica Comets, where he was assigned last week for conditioning.
The defence pairings will have a different look:
- Sbisa-Stecher
- Hutton-Gudbranson
- Tryamkin-Larsen
Ben Hutton, Troy Stecher and Philip Larsen weighed in on the changes due to the injury to Alex Edler:
“I expect more minutes, as all our D-men should. Having our top defencemen out is tough, but we’ll all step up and play smart.” – Hutton

“Guys always step up when others go down. We have chemistry in this D-core, so we’re ready for whatever pairings.” – Stecher
