Scoring goals. Not allowing goals.
Winning their first game on the road this season. Ending their 6 game losing streak.
Stopping the Senators winning streak at two games. Winning their first game of the 6 game road trip.
Ottawa has two straight wins, and 3 wins in their last 4 games; the Canucks have six straight losses.
Canucks last season were noted as winning streak spoilers.
Last night not so much as the Montreal Canadiens stayed undefeated in regulation play in its last 8 games.
Canucks playing losing streak terminators, is on for round two tonight, and it will not be easy as Ottawa is riding high on a two game winning streak, and winners of three in their last four games, including a 3-0 win against Vancouver on October 25.
So, the Canucks have to conjure up last season past, becoming winning streak spoilers, to become losing streak terminators.
Canucks excelled, were impressive, exciting, and passionate last night. Even though it did not translate into a win or finish with them scoring any goals.
Vancouver continuing to bring what they did last night against the Senators tonight is a must. They need to continue to battle, and push, for shots and goals; draw penalties, interfering with the Senators game plan, to the point of scoring and winning. And not being satisfied with anything less.
With goals tonight, Vancouver likely can end their six game losing streak and end the Senators win streak at two games; but only if they can bring the same effort against Montreal, into the game against Ottawa tonight.
