Pre-game
* After a multi-point outing in his NHL playoff debut, Luke Hughes (0-2—2) can become the fifth defenseman in NHL history to record multiple points in each of his first two career postseason contests, joining Joe Micheletti (4 GP in 1981), Ron Stackhouse (3 GP in 1975), Dave Ellett (2 GP in 1985) and Paul Reinhart (2 GP in 1981).
* Jack and Luke Hughes both factored on the same Devils’ goal in Game 3, should the two brothers do so again in Game 4, it would mark the first time since 2015 that siblings factored on a goal in consecutive contests (Daniel & Henrik Sedin in Games 4-6 of 2015 R1).
* The Hurricanes scored three shorthanded goals in Game 3, matching an NHL record for most in a postseason game (since 1933-34). Should Carolina score another shorthanded marker tonight, they would be the first team to record four such goals over a span of two playoff contests.
