The Vancouver Canucks’ (14-8-4, P%-.615, t-3rd Pacific Division) started their week continuing with a 6-game road trip, their 6th and final game against the Minnesota Wild on December 3rd.
Vancouver then came home and began a 6-game homestand against the Columbus Blue Jackets on December 6th, followed up with a week ending game against the Tampa Bay Lightning on December 8th.
Games of The Week
- December 3rd at Minnesota Wild (4-2 OT Loss):
- Kirill Kaprizov scored with 24 seconds left in overtime to give the Minnesota Wild their fourth straight win, 3-2.
- After Canucks forward Brock Boeser hit the right post on the rush with 33 seconds left, Marco Rossi fed Kaprizov on a 2-on-1 for a one-timer from the right face-off circle.
- Elias Pettersson had two assists, and Quinn Hughes and Jake DeBrusk scored for Canucks.
- Goalie Kevin Lankinen made 26 saves in his first road loss of the season (10-0-1).
- December 6th vs Columbus Blue Jackets (5-2 Win):
- Pius Suter scored twice in the third period, and Brock Boeser had a goal and an assist.
- Quinn Hughes had two assists and Kevin Lankinen made 30 saves for the Canucks, who scored five unanswered for the victory.
- Kiefer Sherwood and Jake DeBrusk had a goal each.
- December 8th vs Tampa Bay Lightning (4- 2 Loss):
- The Lightning scored two goals on the power play, including the winner, to defeat the Canucks 4-2.
- Canucks had goals from Quinn Hughes and Kiefer Sherwood
- Starting goalie Kevin Lankinen had 28 saves and a .903 SV%.
Overall
Competitive, relentless, and assertive “team” effort (synergy and cohesion) as the Canucks continue to affect their team identity.
