Teeter Totter Canucks Take Loss Against Nashville 5-3

Like a teeter totter, the Vancouver Canucks (9-5-3, t-3rd Pacific Division) are up and then they are down.

Sunday night in the second of back-to-back games, Vancouver lost 5-3 to the Nashville Predators (6-10-3, 7th Central Division).

Game Summary

The Predators and Canucks were even after the first period at 1-1, Vancouver held  an edge in shots at 9-5 in the period. Once again the visiting team opened the scoring at 5:28 on a goal by Zachery L’Heureux. Aatu Räty tied it up at 11:34.

In the second period the Canucks scored first when Elias Pettersson scored his 6th of the season at 9:51 on the power play.

The Canucks lead would not last long as the Predators would take over the game, starting with a power-play goal plus two more goals to lead 4-2 at 19:38. Steve Stamkos with the power play goal and the last goal of the period.

In the final period, both teams exchanged goals. Kiefer Sherwood at 14:00 and Gustav Nyquist an empty net goal at 19:39.

Canucks goalie Kevin Lankinen stopped 16 of 20 shots. Predators goalie Juuse Saros stopped 24 of 27 shots.
