The Vancouver Canucks (3-1-2, 3rd Pacific Division) defeated the Chicago Blackhawks (2-4-1, 7th Central Division) 6-3 on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at the United Center.

Game Summary

First period:
- The Canucks got off to a quick start, scoring two goals in the first six minutes
  - Danton Heinen scored the first goal with assists from Teddy Blueger and Kiefer Sherwood at 21 seconds
  - J.T. Miller scored the second goal on the power play with assists to Quinn Hughes and Conor Garland at 6:01
- The Blackhawks were able to get on the board nearing the halfway point of the period, when Ryan Donato scored, assists Jason Dickinson, and Alex Vlasic at 9:25 cutting the Canucks lead to 2-1
- Danton Heinen quickly responded with his second goal of the period 81 seconds later to restore the two goals advantage at 3-1, assists Filip Hronek and Kiefer Sherwood at 10:46
- Taylor Hall would bring Chicago back to within a goal of the Canucks again, at 3-2, assisted by Connor Murphy at 13:29
