The Vancouver Canucks (2-1-2) won their second straight game of the season 3-0 in defeating the Philadelphia Flyers(1-3-1) at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphiaon Saturday night.
Game Summary
- Nils Hoglander, Brock Boeser, and Kiefer Sherwood scored for the Canucks.
- Nils Höglander opened the scoring at 16:09 of the first period with a tap-in goal on the right post.
- Brock Boeser made it 2-0 at 8:40 of the second period when he scored from the left post on a pass from defenseman Tyler Myers, who played in his 1,000th NHL game.
- Kiefer Sherwood added a goal in the 2nd period at 9:13 assisted by Teddy Blueger to make the game 3-0 just 50 seconds after Boeser scored.
- Canucks starting goalie Kevin Lankinen made 26 saves for his 4rth career shutout, the first Finnish-born goaltender to record a shutout in Vancouver franchise history.
- Samuel Ersson made 29 saves for the Flyers.
