Canucks Defeat Flames 4-3 In Overtime In Preseason Play Wednesday Night In Abbotsford B.C.

The Vancouver Canucks and Calgary Flames took the NHL to Abbotsford B.C. Wednesday night and provided the hockey fans with with some late game heroics.

Three free agent signings were the difference for Vancouver as the Canucks defeated Pacific division rivals Calgary in overtime 4-3.

Jake DeBrusk with two goals, including the winner against Calgary; Daniel Sprong, who knotted the game at 3-3 with 14 seconds left in regulation play with a highlight goal.

And goalie Jiri Patera, who made some key stops late in the game, to give his team a chance to pull out the win.

Quinn Hughes to Elias Pettersson to DeBrusk for the overtime winner 58 seconds into the extra frame:

Daniel Sprong, with a stupendous individual effort to score, late in regulation to force OT:

Max Sasson put Vancouver on the scoreboard first, Quinn Hughes had two assists, and Patera stopped 16 of 19 shots for the victory.

Vancouver has a day off Thursday before seeing action on the weekend with road games against Seattle Kraken on Friday, Calgary Flames on Saturday, and lastly, Edmonton Oilers on Monday.
