Vancouver (18-18-3=39 pts) opened 2017 with the first game of a three game homestand last night at Rogers Arena against Western conference rivals, Colorado Avalanche (12-24-1=25 pts).
Canucks Extend Win Streak To Four Games
Vancouver came into the first game of 2017 with a 5-1-1 record in their last 7 home games, and riding a three-game win streak with wins over Los Angeles, Anaheim and Edmonton, and extended their win streak to four games, with a 3-2 regulation win over the Avalanche.
Colorado with the loss now has one win in their last ten games.
Horvat, Baertschi Lead Vancouver Over Colorado
Bo Horvat scored at 4:48 of the second period to give the Canucks a 1-0 lead; Sven Baertschi scored at 18:15 in the second period to give Vancouver a 2-1 lead; and then Baertschi scored the game winner, with his second goal of the game, at 16:23 of the third period.

Miller Picks Up 350th Career Win, Daniel Sedin 600th NHL Assist
Ryan Miller stopped 24 of 26 shots for his 350th victory of his NHL career to give Vancouver its 4th straight win; Daniel Sedin picked up his 600th NHL assist on the winning goal.


Henrik Sedin Within 4 Of 1000 Points, Rodin Picks Up First NHL Point
Henrik Sedin registered 2 assists; Anton Rodin picked up his first NHL point with an assist.


Baertschi led the Canucks with 5 shots; and, Henrik Sedin was 14 for 17 in face-offs, 71 percent.
