Canucks Announce Roster, Boeser to Injured Reserve, No Chiasson

The Vancouver Canucks announced their opening roster for the 2021-’22 NHL season, that begins with a six-game road trip starting in Edmonton against the Oilers on Wednesday night.

Based on the cap crunch and injury situation, there were no huge surprises. PTO candidate Alex Chiasson is not included, but that doesn’t prevent the club from signing him. 

It does appear for now that left wing Juho Lammikkoacquired Saturday from Florida, has replaced him on the roster. Lammikko is expected to skate with the club Tuesday morning for the first time.

The club skates Tuesday morning at Rogers Arena and then boards an afternoon charter for Edmonton.

Brock Boeser was placed on injured reserve retroactive to his last full practice, September 29th. Tyler Motte is on injured reserve with a lingering upper body injury/recovery.

Michael Ferland and Brandon Sutter are on long-term injured reserveBrady Keeper, who broke his leg at training camp on September 24th, is also on long term.
