Vancouver (19-18-3=41 pts) played the second game of a three game homestand last night at Rogers Arena against Pacific rivals, Arizona Coyotes (11-22-5=27 pts).
Canucks Extend Win Streak To Five Games
Vancouver came into the second game of 2017 with a 5-1-1 record in their last 7 home games, and riding a four-game win streak with wins over Los Angeles, Anaheim, Edmonton, and Colorado; and extended their win streak to five games, with a 3-0 regulation win over the Coyotes.
Canucks are now 6-1-1 in their last 8 home games, and 7-2-1 in their last 10 games overall, 2nd best in the NHL since Dec 15.
Vancouver In Playoff Hunt
Canucks, continue to be in 6th place in the Pacific division; 1 point behind 5th place Los Angeles for the last wild card playoff position in the Western conference, and 3 points behind 4th place Calgary, who hold down the first wild card position.
Horvat, Baertschi, Sutter Lead Vancouver Over Arizona
Sven Baertschi (11) scored at 9:51 of the first period to give the Canucks a 1-0 lead; Brandon Sutter (10) scored at 6:53 in the third period on a penalty shot, to give Vancouver a 2-1 lead; and then Bo Horvat (12) scored the final Canucks goal on a breakaway, at 13:43 of the third period.
Alex Burrows picked up his 9th assist of the season, and Chris Tanev with his 4th assist, helped the Canucks stay undefeated in their last five games.

Miller Gets 37th Career Shutout
Ryan Miller stopped all 22 Arizona shots for his 37th shutout of his NHL career to give Vancouver its 5th straight win. His shutouts rank him tied for 45 overall, and 8th among active goalies in the NHL.
Miller is now 11-10-1 this season, with a 2.65 GAA, and .912 Sv%, with 1 shutout.
