RobWilliams wrote about Luke Schenn ‘s career hits, saying that Schenn was made aware that he was closing in on 3,000 career hits last season, after his teammates asked about it. Schenn responded, “It’d be cool to look back on, to be right at the top.”

Looks like things are gearing up for the 2002 Young Stars Classic in Penticton on the weekend.

Canucks Scuttlebutt, according to Chris Faber:

Don’t expect to see the Sedins behind the bench at Young Stars but they will be in Penticton but Johnson says, “they’re going to be a big part of the Young Stars around the players.”

Faber adds;

Ryan Johnson tells me that it will be the Abbotsford Canucks coaching staff running the bench at the Young Stars Tournament with the addition of one development coach per game.

Chris Higgins, Mike Komisarek and Mikael Samuelsson will rotate

On Sekeres and Price, John Shannon reported on the J. T. Miller extension negotiations by saying:

“In listening to people in #Canucks management, there was never panic… there was a pragmatic system & philosophy…this went according to plan for Jim Rutherford & Patrik Allvin.”

Elias Pettersson was on the ice today scrimmaging and met with reporters to shoot the breeze and said he was:

“Super excited. I think we improved our team. First day back was a good scrimmage. Really like the new additions.”
