Vancouver (5-9-1=11 pts) visited Joe Lewis Arena for the last time, to take on the Detroit Red Wings (8-6-1=17 pts), in the last game of their 6 game road trip.
Vancouver came into Detroit looking for back-to-back wins for the first time on the road this season. It was not to be
A regulation loss would have the Canucks matching their fewest points in 15 games into a season (11) since 1997-98 (8 pts: 3-10-2), which it did.
Detroit defeated the Canucks 3-1, to lose 5 of 6 games on their road trip (1-5-0); leaving Vancouver with only 1 win in their last 11 games (1-9-1).
Canucks had their lone goal from Daniel Sedin (5), assists going to Henrik Sedin (4) and Troy Stecher (2).
Vancouver is now 1-6-1 on the road.
Canucks starting goalie Ryan Miller, stopped 24 of 27 shots in the game, his 7th straight loss this season.
Miller, after tonight, is 1-7-0 with a 2.79 GAA and a .907 save percentage.

Canucks, are tied for 25th place in the NHL (with Dallas, Calgary); and are tied for 5th place in the Pacific division with Calgary, with 11 points; 8 points behind the Oilers, 1 point ahead of the Arizona Coyotes, who have two games in hand on Vancouver.
Game Summary
In the first period, Dylan Larkin got Detroit on the scoreboard with a quick goal at the 32 second mark, his 5th of the season, assisted by Henrik Zetterberg (7) and Gustav Nyquist (7).
The goal by Larkin represented the 13th time in 15 games that Vancouver has given up the first goal of a hockey game this season.
Brendan Smith, made it 2-0 Detroit, his second of the year, assisted by Niklas Kronwall (1) and Henrik Zetterberg (8), at 18:13.
In the second period, there was no scoring.
In the third period, Daniel Sedin and on a beautiful play and pass with Henrik, get Vancouver on the scoreboard, with his 5th goal, to pull the Canucks within a goal of Dertroit at 2-1, at 3:14; assisted by Henrik Sedin (4) and Troy Stecher (2).
Detroit would make it tough for the Canucks late in the game, as they would go up by two goals, on Steve Ott’s first goal as a Red Wing, his first of the season, assisted by Jonathan Ericsson (4) and Alexey Marchenko (4) at 15:14.
