From Pierre LeBron and The Athletic Staff The Winnipeg Jets are acquiring forward Nino Niederreiter from the Nashville Predators, pending a trade call, a league source confirmed to The Athletic on Saturday. Niederreiter, 30, has 28 points through 56 games this season, his 12th in the NHL.
If the decision is made to try and preserve the club’s existing core, rather than jettisoning a player or two for futures and cap flexibility, the cap math narrowly works.
