The Vancouver Canucks (20-9-1-1)2nd in the Pacific Division, visited the Minnesota Wild  (12-12-0-4)7th in the Central Division, at Excel Energy Center on Saturday afternoon, and the Canucks lost a tight game 2-1 in a shootout, in the first game of their 4-game road trip.

Vancouver entered the game on a 4-game win streak and 7-3-0-0 in their last 10.

Minnesota came into the game 3-2-0-0 in their last 5 games and a home record of 6-4-2, riding a 3 game win streak on home ice.

Vancouver is 2nd in Western Conference and 4th in the NHL.
