The league’s Commissioner, Mario Cecchini, revealed their intent for the new changes in June, “underlining the organization’s dedication to enhancing player well-being.”
The elaboration of this rule includes all the regulations, programs, procedures and practices to ensure not only the highest safety guidelines for our players but also for the coaching staffs, officials and spectators.

One of the key elements of the new safety guidelines are new sanctions to prevent fighting.
The decision to adopt these sanctions was reached with the approval from the QMJHL Members’ Assembly. The guidelines are the result of recommendations made by a committee comprised of Owners, General Managers and some staff members from the Commissioner’s Office.
