Adam Fox, who tallied 0-4—4 in Game 1, can become the second defenseman in Rangers history to record five-plus points in the first two contests of a postseason, joining Brad Park (5 in 1973). The only forwards who have done so are Mikko Leinonen (6 in 1982), Alex Kovalev (5 in 1994), Anders Hedberg (5 in 1983) and Jean Ratelle (5 in 1975).

* The Kraken can become the sixth NHL franchise to win each of their first two playoff games, joining the Golden Knights (5 in 2018), Penguins (4 in 1970), Panthers (3 in 1996), Mighty Ducks (2 in 1997) and Kings (2 in 1968).

* The Avalanche will aim to even the First Round series at 1-1. Reigning Stanley Cup champions own an all-time record of 11-15 in Game 2s when they are down 1-0 in a best of seven series.

Mikko Rantanen and Nathan MacKinnon have both factored on the same playoff goal 38 times in their career (including on the Avalanche’s only tally in Game 1), which marks the highest such total by a pair of teammates in franchise history. The only other teammate duos competing in the 2023 playoffs to both factor on the same postseason goal 38 or more times are Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand (58x), Nikita Kucherov and Brayden Point (44x), Kucherov and Steven Stamkos (42x), Marchand and David Pastrnak (41x) as well as Kucherov and Victor Hedman (40x).

William Karlsson and Jonathan Marchessault each found the score sheet in Game 1 – either Karlsson or Marchessault has recorded a point in 70% of Vegas’ all-time playoff games (47 of 67 GP).
