Vancouver, B.C. – Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that the club has agreed to terms with forward Phillip Di Giuseppe on a two-year, two-way contract extension.

“We are excited to have agreed to terms with Phillip for another two seasons,” said Allvin. “He has been a reliable forward when called upon in Vancouver this year and has been an impactful player and leader with Abbotsford each of the past two seasons.”

Di Giuseppe, 29, has split this season between Vancouver and the Abbotsford Canucks (AHL), tallying four points (2-2-4) in 13 NHL games so far and 32 points (13-19-32) in 37 games at the AHL level. After spending the entire 2021.22 campaign with Abbotsford, the forward made his Vancouver Canucks debut on January 25 at Seattle and notched his first goal with the team in his next game on February 6 at New Jersey.

The 6’0″, 193-pound winger has compiled 57 points (18-39-57) and 77 penalty minutes in 214 regular season games over parts of seven NHL seasons with the Canucks, New York Rangers, Nashville Predators, and Carolina Hurricanes. He also appeared in three NHL Stanley Cup Playoff games with the Rangers during their 2020 Qualifying Round series against Carolina.

A product of Toronto, Ontario, Di Giuseppe has recorded 195 points (79-116-195) and 198 penalty minutes in 306 regular season AHL games, posting new career-highs in assists (24) and points (36) last season with Abbotsford.

Di Giuseppe was originally selected by the Carolina Hurricanes in the second round, 38th overall in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
