Vancouver, B.C. – Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that the club has agreed to terms with defenceman Guillaume Brisebois on a two-year contract extension. The contract will be two-way in the first season (2023.24), and one-way in the second season (2024.25).
“We are excited to bring back Guillaume for a couple more seasons,” said Allvin. “Thanks to the coaching and development he has received from Jeremy Colliton and his staff in Abbotsford, Guillaume has taken a step forward this year. We will continue to work with him and expect that he will make a strong push for a regular NHL roster spot next year.”
Brisebois, 25, split the 2022.23 season between the Vancouver Canucks (0-1-1, 9 GP), and the Abbotsford Canucks where he recorded six points (1-5-6), 11 penalty minutes +8 plus-minus rating.
The 6’2″, 175-pound defenceman has appeared in 241 career AHL games recording 60 points (14-46-60) and 106 penalty minutes. He made his NHL debut in 2018.19 and has appeared in 19 career NHL games, all with Vancouver.
On the international stage, Brisebois won a bronze medal with team Canada at the 2015 IIHF World U18 Championship.
A product of Longueuil, QC, Brisebois was originally selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the third round, 66th overall, in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
