Canucks Scuttlebutt Post Game Edition| Canucks-3 at Minnesota-4 OT 10.20.22

Canucks Record: 0-3-2, 7th Pacific

Arda Ocal: The Canucks are the 3rd team in NHL history to go winless in their first 5 games of a season despite having a lead in all 5 games. The others:
– 1971-72 California Golden Seals
– 1993-94 Ottawa Senators

Iain MacIntyre: Despite getting caved in again territorially (6-14 attempted shots, 34.3% xGF), J.T. Miller logged 20:07 TOI. He was on for another GWG against. Just not going for him right now, but Boudreau continues to play him a tonne.

Jeff Paterson: Canucks  PP had late 3rd period chances when last two games were tied. PP finished road trip 2/19 on the season with 2 SHGA

Joey Kenward: In OT #Canucks    forwards were stuck on the ice for the following ice times: Brock Boeser – 2:06, J.T. Miller – 2:16. Quinn Hughes finishes game vs #mnwild    with 28:18 TOI. He’s averaging 2nd most ice time of any #NHL player this season.

Jason Brough: Six of the next seven games are at home, followed by a trip to eastern Canada. I have no idea what, if anything, management could do if the losing continues, but I don’t think it’s too soon to start wondering.

Jason Brough: 6 of next 7 games at Home.

Chris Faber: According to the DAWG formula, tonight’s top-dog was Dakota Joshua, who posted an astonishing 116.39 rating. This is the highest rating we have ever recorded. Joshua definitely had that dog in him tonight. As for the bottom-dog, it was Conor Garland with a 12.41 rating. Yikes.

Patrick Johnston: Boudreau on the PP’s struggles: “I think we’re being way too cute.”

Head Coach Bruce Boudreau: “The 4th line was great tonight…I thought the first two periods, every time they were on the ice, they were in the other team’s zone. It’s a very encouraging sign.”

Patrick Johnston: Boudreau had no update on Riley Stillman post-game
