Status report

Simmonds is expected to return; he missed a 5-2 loss at the Calgary Flames on Thursday to be with his wife for the birth of their child. … Kase practiced Friday after leaving in the first period Thursday because of a hit by Flames defenseman Nikita Zadorov; he will be reevaluated closer to game time. … Hamonic, a defenseman who has missed 21 games, will be a game-time decision after returning to practice this week; Juulsen is likely to come out of the lineup if Hamonic plays. … Dickinson returns after missing one game with an undisclosed injury. …Highmore, a forward, is eligible to come out of COVID-19 protocol and likely would likely replace Chiasson if he plays.
