In some ways the current season records of the Canadian teams reflect their division positions, and the ability to take part in the trade deadline this season, and make a push for a playoff position that has a mathematical chance.

Or sell, and retool, rebuild for the future, starting with next season, and acquiring assets for players in demand by playoff pushing teams. Especially draft choices.
