* Lou Lamoriello is serving his 2,600th regular-season game as an NHL general manager tonight (1,329-923-347 in 2,599 games), a mark reached by only two others in League history: David Poile (2,921 games; 1,451-1,115-355) and Glen Sather (2,700 games; 1,319-1,044-337).
* Zdeno Chara is skating in the 1,616th career game, surpassing Larry Murphy (1,615 GP) for the third-most by a defenseman in NHL history and 11th-most among all skaters.
* Brock Nelson notched his third career hat trick (also Jan. 12, 2016 vs. CBJ & Feb. 9, 2018 vs. DET), tied with Mathew Barzal for the second most among Islanders skaters since he entered the NHL in 2013-14. The only player with more for the franchise over that span is John Tavares (4).
* Anthony Beauvillierrecorded his second career game with three assists. The other: April 20, 2021 (1-3—4 vs. NYR). He is the first Islanders player to notch three helpers in a game this season.
* Brock Nelson tallied four goals for the first time in his career. He matched the franchise record for most goals in a road game, a feat last accomplished by Matt Moulson(Dec. 3, 2011 at DAL).
* Zdeno Chara (44 years, 231 days) collected an assist – his first point with the Islanders – and became the oldest player in Islanders history to record a point, eclipsing the previous mark held by Ron Stewart (40 years, 138 days on Nov. 26, 1972).

* Jeff Carter is appearing in his 1,100th career game after he reached the 400-goal milestone earlier this season on Oct. 14. Carter became just the third active player with at least 400 goals and 1,100 contests, joining Joe Thornton (426-1,104—1,530 in 1,687 GP) and Alex Ovechkin (739-596—1,336 in 1,206 GP).
* Brock McGinn scored 16 seconds into the contest for the Penguins – 10 seconds shy of the franchise record for fastest to start a game. He became the seventh player to score in the opening minute of a game this season and second Pittsburgh skater (also Teddy Blueger on Oct. 16; 0:15).
* Kris Letang scored his seventh career overtime goal. Only five defensemen in NHL history have netted more: Brent Burns (15), Scott Niedermayer (13), Mike Green (9), Seth Jones (9) and Dustin Byfuglien (8).

* Aleksander Barkov opened the scoring to extend his goal streak to three games (4-0—4). The Panthers leads the NHL with a 6-0-0 record when scoring first this season.
* Entering the night with a share of the NHL lead in goals among defensemen, Aaron Ekblad scored his fourth of the 2021-22 season. In 2020-21, he shared the NHL lead among defensemen with 11 goals at the time of a season-ending injury on March 28.
* Aleksander Barkov scored his second goal of the game and the 188th of his career, tying Olli Jokinen for the most in Panthers history.
* Eetu Luostarinen scored the winner in overtime as the Panthers extended their season-opening point streak to 10 games (9-0-1) – their second-longest run to start a season behind a 12-game stretch from Oct. 5-30, 1996 (8-0-4).
* Only five teams have recorded a longer point streak to start a season than Florida since 2000-01: Chicago (24 GP in 2012-13), Anaheim (16 GP in 2006-07), Buffalo (12 GP in 2006-07), NY Islanders (11 GP in 2001-02) and Colorado (2000-01). The Blackhawks’ streak is the longest in NHL history.
* The Panthers improved to 6-0-0 at FLA Live Arena this season – the NHL’s longest active home win streak (CAR: 5-0-0). Florida has also won 10 straight regular-season contests on home ice dating to April 24, the League’s longest active run spanning seasons. 
* Alex Ovechkin scored his NHL-leading 10th goal of the season and the 740th of his career – one shy of matching Brett Hull for fourth on the League’s all-time list.
* Alex Ovechkin (36 years, 48 days) became the NHL’s first player to reach the 10-goal mark in a season for the third time (also in 2013-14 and 2017-18). The 2021-22 campaign is the third in NHL history to feature a player 36 or older as the first skater to 10 goals – Mike Gartner (1996-97 w/ PHX) and Maurice Richard (1957-58 w/ MTL) both achieved the feat at age 36.
* With his third point tonight, Alex Ovechkin equaled Denis Savard (1,338) and Dave Andreychuk (1,338) for 29th place on the all-time NHL points list.
* Alex Ovechkin (1-2—3) recorded the 118th three-point game of his career. Only one active player has registered more: Sidney Crosby (147).
* Alex Ovechkin boosted his 2021-22 totals to 10-8—18, his highest points total through his first 10 games of a season in his career. He also matched the Capitals mark for most points through the team’s first 10 games of a campaign, joining John Carlson (3-5—18 in 2019-20).
* Alex Ovechkin (18 points) is the third player in NHL history to post 18+ points through his first 10 games of a season at age 36 or older, following Mario Lemieux (23 points in 2002-03) and Maurice Richard (19 points in 1957-58). Age based on start of season.

* Chandler Stephenson collected an assist to improve his team-leading totals to 4-6—10 (10 GP) and reach the 100-point milestone (40-60—100 in 270 GP). Stephenson recorded 33 of those points through 168 games with Washington over five seasons, before amassing 67 points in 102 contests since joining Vegas in 2019-2020.
* Jonathan Marchessault scored Vegas’ third goal of the game to record his 300th career point (133-167—300 in 414 GP). The undrafted forward is the Golden Knights’ all-time leading scorer.

* Patrice Bergeron (36 years, 103 days) became the fifth different player in Bruins history to record a hat trick at age 36 or older. The others: Johnny Bucyk (6), Jean Ratelle, Dit Clapper and Dave Andreychuk.
* All three of Patrice Bergeron’sgoals came on the power play, which ties the franchise record for the most in a game.
* Patrice Bergeron scored his second career natural hat trick (also Jan. 6, 2018 vs. CAR, when he netted the last three goals of the game after also scoring earlier in the contest). He is the only Bruins player with a natural hat trick in the past 10 seasons (since 2011-12). Bergeron is the second player to score a natural hat trick this season, following Montreal’s Mathieu Perreault (Oct. 23, 2021 vs. DET).
* Patrice Bergeron scored four times to equal the Bruins franchise record for goals in a game. The only Bruins player older than Bergeron (36 years, 103 days) to score four goals in a game was Johnny Bucyk, who is the only player in NHL history with multiple four-goal games at age 36+ (38 years 238 days on Jan. 5, 1974 and 37 years, 251 days on Jan. 18, 1973).

* William Nylander scored his sixth career overtime goal, tying Steve Thomas and Wendel Clark for the fourth most in franchise history. Only Mats Sundin (14), Auston Matthews (7), Tomas Kaberle (7) have more.

* Miro Heiskanen (0-3—3) recorded three assists in a game for the second time in his career (also 0-3—3 on Jan. 28 vs. DET). The most three-assist outings by a Stars defenseman is 13, held by Sergei Zubov.
* Miro Heiskanen (2-8—10) reached the 10-point plateau in 10 games. Only four defensemen in Stars/North Stars history required fewer games to hit the mark: Darryl Sydor (5 GP in 1998-99), Larry Murphy (6 GP in 1989-90 w/ MNS), John Klingberg (7 GP in 2020-21) and Sergei Zubov (9 GP in 2002-03).
* Tyler Seguin (1-0—1) scored his 229th goal with the Stars, surpassing Steve Payne (228) for sole possession of 10th place on the franchise’s all-time goals list.
* The Stars earned their fifth consecutive win against the Flames at Scotiabank Saddledome dating to Oct. 27, 2017, their second-longest active road winning streak against one opponent behind a six-game stretch versus the Kings (6-0-0 dating to April 2, 2016).
* Jamie Benn scored his 10th career overtime goal to establish the franchise record for the most by a Stars/North Stars player, eclipsing Mike Modano (9).

* Logan Couture scored the 12th shorthanded goal of his career. He trails Patrick Marleau (17), Owen Nolan (14), Marco Sturm (14) and Jeff Friesen (13) for the most in Sharks history. 
* The Blues scored three game-tying goals tonight – one shy of the most in a single game in franchise history (4 on Feb. 27, 2021). Coincidentally, their franchise-high also occurred in a road game against San Jose.
* Joel Hofer (21 years, 97 days) became the youngest goaltender to win his NHL debut with the Blues, eclipsing the previous mark set by Michel Plasse on March 30, 1971 (22 years, 302 days).

* Jordan Eberle scored three consecutive goals and became the ninth player in NHL history to record a natural hat trick for an expansion franchise in their inaugural season, joining William Karlsson (March 18, 2018 w/ VGK), Tyler Wright (March 16, 2001 w/ CBJ), Bob Kudelski (Jan. 10, 1993 w/ OTT), Dave Christian (March 26, 1980 w/ WIN), Wayne Gretzky (March 21, 1980 w/ EDM), Stan Gilbertson (April 6, 1975 w/ WSH), Craig Cameron (Jan. 23, 1973 w/ NYI) and Lowell MacDonald (Nov. 19, 1967 w/ LAK).
* Philipp Grubauer won his fifth straight game against the Sabres dating to Feb. 19, 2018, which matches his longest active win streak against one franchise (also 5-0-0 vs. LAK).
* Seattle became the first expansion franchise since 1967-68 to have a player score a natural hat trick within their first 11 games of a season.
* Seattle also became just the third expansion franchise in the past 41 years (since 1980-81) to feature a skater score a hat trick within their first 11 contests. The others: Anaheim, which witnessed the feat in their sixth game (Terry Yake on Oct. 19, 1993), and Tampa Bay –which saw the outing in their first-ever NHL contest (Chris Kontos on Oct. 7, 1992).
