Canucks Get Reid Boucher Off Waivers

The Vancouver Canucks claimed forward Reid Boucher off waivers earlier today.

The New Jersey Devils had claimed Boucher off waivers on Monday from the Nashville Predators, who had claimed Boucher from the Devils on Dec 3.

A U.S. National Development Team member from 2009-11, Boucher played two seasons with the OHL’s Sarnia Sting from 2011-13, leading the league in goals and being named an OHL First-Team All-Star in 2012.13.

A native of Lansing, Michigan, Boucher was originally selected by New Jersey in the fourth round, 99th overall, at the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

Boucher, 23, has split this season between the Nashville Predators (1-0-1 in 3 GP) and the New Jersey Devils (0-2-2 in 9 GP).

The 5-10, 195-pound forward has amassed 30 points (12-18-30) in 85 career NHL games since the 2013.14 season. Boucher has also suited up in 169 American Hockey League games posting 110 points (63-47-110).
