Vancouver (4-1-1=9 pts) played their second of back-to-back road games on their California road swing, tonight at Honda Center against division rival, Anaheim Ducks (2-3-1=3 pts), suffering their first regulation loss by a 4-2 score.

The Canucks are tied for 2nd place overall in the NHL (tied with Montreal and St. Louis) and are in 2nd place in the Pacific division, with 9 points, a point behind Edmonton.

Loui Ericksson had a two point night (0-2=2 pts); Henrik Sedin (3) and Bo Horvat (3) led the Canucks with a goal each; and Philip Larsen (3) had an assist.

Canucks starting goalie Ryan Miller, stopped 33 of 37 shots in the game.

Miller, after two game starts, has a 1.94 GAA and a .935 SV%. He is now 1-1-0 for the season.

Before the game started, the Canucks were down two forwards, one expected and one a maybe, based Saturday night’s game.

Derek Dorsett was expected to be out of the game tonight after getting hurt late in the second period against the Kings. Alex Burrows was the maybe, as he did get boarded heavily in the game, but did play the rest of the game.

Jack Sille was brought in, as the only other forward to make the trip; and defenseman Alex Biega was inserted into the lineup.

Deja Vu for the first period.

The Ducks came prepared to play and the Canucks were caught flat footed, and provided little support for Ryan Miller, as Anaheim scored 33 seconds into the game, making it 1-0.

Andrew Cogliano (3), assisted by Josh Manson (1) and Ryan Kesler (3).

The Ducks would go on the power play late in the opening period, and Loui Ericksson would feed Bo Horvat a breakaway from the Canuck end, and Horvat would score shorthanded to tie the game 1-1 with 33 seconds left in the first period.

The Canucks first goal of any first period since the start of the season, a shorthanded effort. Horvat (3), assisted by Loui Ericksson (3) at 19:27.

In the second, with 21 seconds left on the Anaheim power play from the opening period, the Ducks would score with three seconds with the man advantage.

Cam Fowler (3) from Sami Vatanen (3) and Ryan Getzlaf (5) at 0:18 to make it 2-1 Ducks. That would be the score after two periods.

In the third, the Canucks would even the game at 2-2 with a goal by Henrik Sedin (3), assisted by Loui Ericksson (4) and Philip Larsen (3) at 4:19, after Vancouver was unsuccesful with the man advantage.

Anaheim would go up by a goal 3-2, with a goal from Nick Ritchie (1) from Ryan Getzlaf (6) and Corey Perry (2) at 11:24.

It would become 4-2 Anaheim at 18:43 when Corey Perry would score an embarressing goal for Ryan Miller, assisted by Ryan Getzlaf (7) and Clayton Stoner (1).
