VANCOUVER — J.T. Miller scored his second goal of the game at 2:22 of overtime, and the Vancouver Canucks rallied for a 3-2 win against the New York Rangers at Rogers Arena on Tuesday.
Miller won it on a wraparound after being denied on a breakaway by Igor Shesterkin.
Vasily Podkolzin tied it in the third period, and Thatcher Demko made 20 saves for the Canucks (4-5-1), who were 0-for-6 on the power play and had lost three in a row.
Artemi Panarin had a goal and an assist, and Adam Fox had two assists for the Rangers (6-2-2), who won their previous five on the road. Shesterkin made 33 saves.
Mika Zibanejad gave New York a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal at 2:33 of the second period, one-touching a cross-ice backdoor pass from Panarin off the rush.
Panarin also scored on the power play at 13:13 with a one-timer from the point that deflected off Canucks defenseman Tucker Poolman‘s stick in the slot to make it 2-0.
Miller started Vancouver’s rally at 1:29 of the third period when he converted a backdoor pass from Conor Garland out of the corner to make it 2-1.
Podkolzin tied it 2-2 with a one-timer from Garland at 5:19.
The Canucks killed a 36-second 5-on-3 power play with 3:40 left in the third. Demko made three saves against Panarin despite losing his stick and blocker earlier in the sequence.
