Former Canucks Head Coach Bruce Boudreau on Elias Pettersson:
Boudreau on Pettersson:
He's one of the best players in the league. His intelligence, anticipation, willingness to want to be the best and thinking he's the best is second to none.
Nils Höglander seems to be on track to make Opening Day roster:
Trying to get back to NHL, driven, engaged Nils Hoglander has been everything Dakota Joshua hasn’t so far at camp.
“It might have been better if I started there (in the AHL) when I came, I don't know. But I just think I learned a lot last year.” https://t.co/xE7td8ume5

Day 1 at training camp had head coach Rick Tocchet liking what he saw and wanting more of the same all weekend.
Rick Tocchet liked what he saw from #Canucks on the opening day of training camp. But he knows it was just one day. He wants to see the hard work continue tomorrow and through the weekendhttps://t.co/i8FDvAuJFY
Elias Pettersson couldn’t escape the question of a contract extension and tried to put it to rest so he could focus on the season ahead.
Elias Pettersson on an extension:
“It’s not a distraction, you guys make it a distraction. I got one more year left, I’m happy now, but I just want to focus on the season, my teammates, and just come out with a good start with the team….that’s all I’m going to say.” #Canucks
The question of Quinn Hughes’ defensive partner came up on Day 1, and head coach Rick Tocchet will take his time to make a decision.
Tocchet was asked about Juulsen playing with Hughes, said he still “needs to be convinced” to play lefty-lefty. Wants someone who can get the puck to Hughes & believes it’s easier for a right handed shot. Also expects Mikheyev back in the next day or two. #Canucks@TSNHockey
