NHL GREATS PARTICIPATE IN MACY’S THANKSGIVING PARADE

Recent Hockey Hall of Fame inductee Eric Lindros and former Rangers great Adam Graves were aboard the Discover NHL “Frozen Fall Fun” float in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York on Thursday.

The 36-foot long by 20-foot wide float featured a synthetic ice rink with children skating, a 12-foot tall turkey that served as a goal and an assortment of colorful fall décor. Singer Daya also delighted the crowd and even signed some hockey sticks for a few lucky fans.

CANADIENS GET BACK ON TRACK AT HOME

After dropping two of their last three home contests, Max Pacioretty scored the game-winning goal 14 seconds into the third period to end Carolina’s five-game winning streak and help the Canadiens improve to 12-1-1 on home ice this season.

* Per Elias, the Canadiens have won at least 12 of their first 14 home games for the fifth time in franchise history, most recently accomplishing the feat in 1984-85 (12-1-1).

* Carey Price continued his hot start, making 31 saves to improve to 12-1-1 with a 1.71 goals against average, .945 save percentage and two shutouts. Price has allowed one goal or fewer in eight of his 14 starts this season.

SENATORS RALLY OVER BRUINS

The Senators scored three unanswered goals to snap a three game road losing streak.

* Kyle Turris (9-3—12) and Mark Stone (5-7—12) each scored to maintain a share of the points lead among Senators forwards. Turris, whose nine goals lead the team, is only four shy of his total from last season (13 in 57GP).

* Chris Wideman scored the game-winning goal at 6:28 of the third period. Of his seven career goals (79GP), three have been game-winners.

LOOSE PUCKS

Bruins forward David Pastrnak scored his team-leading 11th goal of the season, four shy of his career-high set in 2015-16 . . . Hurricanes forward Elias Lindholm (1-0—1) earned a point for the fourth straight game after posting 0-3—3 over his first 15 contests . . . Carolina, who leads the League in penalty killing (92.2%), stopped both of the Canadiens’ power plays and have not allowed a shorthanded goal in 11 consecutive games (0-24).

DISCOVER NHL THANKSGIVING SHOWDOWN TO FEATURE RANGERS, FLYERS

The Rangers head to Philadelphia to face the Flyers in the 2016 Discover NHL Thanksgiving Showdown in a matinee that will be broadcast nationally on NBC.

Both clubs will be aiming to bounce back from Wednesday losses.

The Flyers are led by Wayne Simmonds (10-8—18), who sits one back of the League lead with nine power play points.

The Metropolitan-leading Rangers are paced by Kevin Hayes (9-9—18) and J.T. Miller (8-10—18) over their first 21 contests this season.

OVECHKIN HAT TRICK POWERS CAPITALS WIN

The Capitals owned a 4-1 lead in the third period backed by a hat trick from Alex Ovechkin (3-0—3) before holding off a late Blues rally – including two goals in the final 1:15 of play – to improve to 7-3-0 at home this season and halt St. Louis’ win streak at four games.

* Ovechkin’s hat trick marked the 16th time in his NHL career he has registered three or more goals in a game.

Per Elias, the six-time Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy winner broke a tie with Jaromir Jagr (15) for most career hat tricks among active players.

* Ovechkin recorded his fourth game-winning goal of the season and the 92nd of his career, tied with Mike Modano, Mark Messier and Jeremy Roenick for 16th all-time.

CROSBY, PENGUINS EXPLODE FOR SIX STRAIGHT GOALS

The Penguins scored six consecutive goals, including five in the second period, to even their home-and-home series against the Rangers with a win.

* Per Elias, the Penguins scored five or more goals in one period for the first time since tallying five times in the third period of an 8-3 W vs. CAR on April 27, 2013.

* Penguins captain Sidney Crosby ignited the offense with 2-1—3 and leads the League with 14 goals this season (14-5—19 in 14 GP).

McDAVID, POINTS LEADERS STAY HOT

Each of the NHL’s top five points leaders were in action on Wednesday with Connor McDavid (1-2—3), Vladimir Tarasenko (2-0—2) and Nikita Kucherov (1-0—1) adding to their respective totals. McDavid has registered multiple points in three consecutive games (4-4—8).

DEVILS, PREDATORS AND KINGS ENJOY HOME COOKIN’

The Devils, Predators and Kings earned victories on Wednesday night to build on their respective home winning streaks:

* The Devils overcame deficits of 3-0 and 4-3 to improve to 7-0-1 at home this season, including four straight wins.

Elias notes that New Jersey earned points in their first eight or more home games of a season for the third time in franchise history (also 1987-88: 8-0-1 and 1990-91: 7-0-1).

Elias adds the Devils overcame a three-goal deficit to win for the first time since Dec. 8, 2011 vs. OTT (5-4 SO W).

* Filip Forsberg (1-1—2), Ryan Johansen (1-1—2) and James Neal (1-1—2) each recorded multi-point efforts to help the Predators improve to 6-0-1 in their last seven games at Bridgestone Arena, including five consecutive victories. Pekka Rinne (33 SV) improved to 7-1-2 in his last 10 appearances following a 1-4-1 start to the season.

* Tied 1-1 late in the third period, the Kings scored three times in 44 seconds to secure their fifth consecutive home victory and improve their overall winning streak to four games. Dwight King scored back-to-back goals 25 seconds apart to eclipse 100 career points (48-53—101).

The Lightning improved to 5-1-0 in their last six contests . . . Flames goaltender Chad Johnson (34 SV) recorded his second shutout of the season . . . NHL FLOAT RETURNS FOR THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE

The Discover NHL “Frozen Fall Fun” float returns to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday.

The 36-foot long by 20-foot wide float features a synthetic ice rink with children skating, a 12-foot tall turkey that serves as a goal and an assortment of colorful fall décor.

Riding aboard the float will be former Flyers forward and 2016 Hockey Hall of Fame inductee Eric Lindros, former Rangers great Adam Graves and singer Daya.

The float promotes the 2016 Discover NHL Thanksgiving Showdown, which will take place on Friday between the Rangers and Flyers at Wells Fargo Center (1 p.m., NBC).
