Czech National Men’s Ice Hockey Team Suffers 4-2 Loss By Sweden at Karjala Cup

The Czech national ice hockey team started the Karjala Cup with a loss to the Sweden National Men’s hockey team, by a score of 4-1, in Linköping. The tournament is one of four in the Euro Hockey Tour, an unofficial ice hockey championship.

The popular European national teams – the Czech Republic, Sweden, Russia and Finland – compete against each other in the European Hockey Tour each year.

The goals by Sweden were from Pontus Holmberg, Karl Klingberg, Jesper Olofsson and Anton Bengtsson . Among the Czechs, Philip Hlapik scored.

The Czechs next face the Finns, in Helsinki, on Saturday.
