Game Time: 7:00 PM PST
Location: Rogers Arena
TV: Sportsnet One
Radio: TSN 1040
What’s Up:
The Vancouver Canucks (0 – 0 – 1 = 1 pts) battle Edmonton Oilers (1 – 0 – 0 = 2 pts) in their first of two meetings in preseason play. The other game being on October 8.
The game also marks the second of consecutive games for the Canucks who took on division rival San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night suffering a 3-2 overtime loss in San Jose.
What’s at stake:
Edmonton defeated Calgary 4-2 Monday night in their first preseason game, so they would like to continue undefeated in preseason play.
Vancouver is looking to nip its losing streak at one game, and get on the winning track against the Oilers at home.
The Canucks have been out shot in the first three periods in regulation play in the preseason (15-4; 11-6; 6-4 against San Jose) and hopefully they will change that tonight.
Vancouver special teams last night were 0 for 5 on the power play with only 3 shots on net. Penalty kill 3 for 3 with San Jose only having 5 total shots.
When it came to possession play, San Jose out classed Vancouver last night, clearly dominating the Canucks, in all situations and 5-on-5.
