ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Newly acquired Alaska Aces goaltender Kevin Carr has been invited to the Vancouver Canucks main training camp beginning September 22 in Whistler, BC.

Canucks General Manager Jim Benning said Tuesday that Carr will be joined by veteran winger Tuomo Ruutu and veteran center James Sheppard on Professional Try Out contracts at the camp.

The Aces are a proud affiliate of the Canucks and the AHL’s Utica Comets.

Carr, a native of Unionville, Ontario, was acquired by the Aces in a trade with Tulsa that sent defenseman Brandon Martell to the Oilers last month.

The 26 year old Carr was stellar in his first season with Tulsa in 2014-15, fashioning a 30-16-4 record with a 2.73 goals against average and a save percentage at 91 per cent. Last season, Carr was 21-21-2 with a 2.39 GAA and 91% save percentage. His size, 6-2, 195 fills the net nicely.
