EWHL 2021-2022 Super Cup Standings

EWHL Supercup Regular Season:The EWHL Supercup will be played with 3 groups as one (1) round robin in each.
EWHL Supercup Play Offs:The 3 group winners plus the best 2nd placed team (points per game percentage, if equal then goal difference per game and if still equal then scored goals per game) will be eligible to play the „EWHL Supercup Final Four Tournament“. Withdrawal of one club for the final tournament means that the next team in the ranking will get it’s place in the tournament and the team not participating will automatically be ranked from 5th place. The winner of the EWHL Supercup Final Tournament will be the „EWHL Supercup Champion 2020-21“.
Game Points & League Standings:
- Regulation Time is 3 x 20 minutes. Each game must produce a winner.
- The team which wins a game after regulation time will receive three points in the league standings, while the losing team will receive no points.
- If the game is undecided at the end of regulation time, each team will be awarded a point in the league standings; after a three minute break without ice resurfacing, the teams will then play a sudden victory overtime. Should the sudden victory overtime still fail to produce a winner, the game will be decided by a penalty shootout in accordance with IIHF rules (start with 5 different shooters per team [resp. unless the winner is already clear]). The winner (after sudden victory overtime or the penalty shootout) will be awarded another point in the league standings.
- Ranking in the standings will be decided as follows:
  - Firstly: Number of points. If points are the same, the following calculations ensue: If teams are equal on points the following tie-breakers are applied:
  - If two or more teams are on same level on points, the direct duel results count. Should three or more teams be on the same level on points, those teams’ scores are being recalculated in a sub-group if all teams in this sub-group played the same number of games, considering only those matches between the members of said sub-group. Ranking differential:
    1. Higher amount of points in the direct duel(s)
    2. Better Goal Difference in the direct duel(s)
    3. Higher number of scored goals in the direct duels
  - Better Goal Difference overall
  - Higher number of scored goals overall
Final Tournaments:

- Day 1: 1-4, 2-3
- Day 2: Bronze Medal Game, Gold Medal Game

ECDC Memmingen Defeat Aisulu Almaty In Overtime In European Women’s Hockey League (EWHL) Supercup Group B Action.

ECDC Memmingen Indians (GER)-3 vs Aisulu Almaty (KSZ)-2 Overtime (OT)

After a tough week at the Olympic Pre-Qualification Round 2 in Torre Pellice, Italy in which the Aisulu Almaty team formed the majority of the Kazakhstan National Women’s team, the ECDC Memmingen Indians from Memmingen, Germany were hoping they would have an advantage over a tired rival for this seasons EWHL Supercup.

While the host Memmingen Indians outshot the visting Almaty squad 13-8 in the opening period, it was Almaty that would escape the first period with the only goal and take a 1-0 lead into the intermission. Breanna Lynn Berndsen scored the goal at 9:57, assisted by teammate Munira Sayakhatkyzy.

The middle frame was all Memmingen, scoring a pair of goals and dominating Almaty in shots 17-4. Anna Rose and Savannah Rennie scoring the Indians goals. Kassandra Roache and Lena Kartheininger assists on the first goal; Katharina Hackelsmiller and Nadine Schattner assists on the 2-1 goal for Memmingen.

Aisulu Almaty tightened up their game, and concentrated on making sure that Memmingen would not have an easy time of it in the third period. The Indians did not have shots getting to the Almaty netminder, to give themselves some security with a two goal lead.

Meanwhile, Aisulu was patiently waiting for one of their few shots of the final period to cross the Memmingen goal line and tie up the game. With three minutes left in the game, and Almaty putting their efforts to interfere with Memmingen’s efforts to get that 3-1 goals, the visitors were quickly in need of changing their efforts, from defense, and put some offense together to get a goal.

Almaty did just that. At 17:55, Malika Aldabergenova, potted the goal assisted by Kalista Senger and Pernesh Ashimova to even the score at 2-2 in regulation play and take the game into a five minute overtime and maybe a shootout to decide the winner.

In overtime, Almaty would spend the majority of the time playing shorthanded, with penalties to Aldabergenova at 56 seconds, and Larissa Sviridova, with 64 seconds left in overtime.

It was the Sviridova tripping call that decided the game on a penalty shot. Anne Bartsch, at 3:56 of overtime for the win.
